Lesson 53 – Review 3

1. My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.
2. I am upset because I see a meaningless world.
3. A meaningless world engenders fear.
4. God does not create a meaningless world.
5. My thoughts are images that I have made.

Today I witnessed a miracle. I was working with a client and watched as she changed her mind, her thoughts, about something. Letting go of the old way of thinking opened up a completely new way to see things, a less fearful, less destructive, more uplifting way of viewing the world and her part in it. In moments like that I truly love my work, love it, love it, love it. I feel so privileged to be allowed to be part of this process of swapping the meaningless for something more meaningful.

I then went straight into a lunch meetup with members of the writers class from Boldmere Adult Education Centre, and read one of my poems. One I’d written about the sculpture of Lucifer in the Art Gallery in Birmingham under the theme of wings. (see below) It was also great to hear other people’s writings on ‘revenge’ and ‘reserved.’ I love being in the presence and energy of other writers. I was hoping it would spur me on the do some more on the novel tonight, but the rest of the day was taken up with many tenant issues. I need to plan a couple of marathon sessions to catch up.

Broken Wings

Lucifer. Bringer of light
Oh, most beautiful of angels.
Flap your wings,
sprinkle starlight
in the inky sky
let it fall on me
as fiery snowflakes.

Lucifer. Bringer of light
Oh, most beautiful of angels.
Stroke me with a
tender smile.
Flood my heart
with moon beams
and sparkling eye-drops.

Lucifer. Bringer of light
Oh, most beauteous of angels.
Procure for me
a crevice
on the Creator’s right.
Let me bathe
in your afterglow.

Lucifer. Bringer of light.
Master of fire, King of Hades.
If we meet
In your new abode
think benignly
of one who has fallen
too.
